Get outside or stay indoors to find different shapes.

Shapes are ALL around us. Have your student try to locate as many shapes as he/she can, this activity can be done in or outdoors.

The first column shows a shape, in the second column have your student write or dictate to you what the name of that shape is. The last column will be used to draw the shape found within the world around us. I have 5 shapes listed however, feel free to use the second page to include more shapes as you feel your student progresses.

You can download the scavenger hunt sheet by clicking here. If printing is not an option for you use a scrap/blank piece of paper and create your own chart for the scavenger hunt.

Kindergarten Standards:

Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size.

Model shapes in the world by building shapes from components (e.g., sticks and clay balls) and drawing shapes.
